I was born in Madrid in 1955 in a large family. I was the second of 6 brothers and sisters and only

Adolfo and I took the painting as our lifestyle.


My father, Pedro León de la Rúa Lissen, was the one who made me make my first steps in painting.

He introduced me since I was very little in this fascinating world because he was a painter as well.

He, as well as my mother, María, tought me to measure up those things that are really important in life. They showed me very young how to get by in life.

At the age of 14, we moved to Málaga, city wich I fell in love with because of its light and see. That´s why I dedicate to it a big part of my work.

It was in Málaga where I exposed for my first time at the age of 16. Since then till now I´ve exposed in many galleries in Málaga, Badajoz, Jaén and London.

My technic has been continuosly developing as the time went by. Over all in light, color mixture and the way of using the palette knife. It was something that I had been learnig by myself, due to many hours in front of the palette and canvas.

Nowadays I live in Chilches,Málaga, with my wife Mari Angeles and my son Pedro. Without them and their unconditional support and help, I feel continuosly renewed my determination to do what I love most, painting....
